Afrizo Future Leaders: High School College Prep and Mentorship Program

We evaluate student reports after every academic term and offer strategic guidance to propel academic performance, including targeted support on 4-year course planning, study plans, test-taking techniques, identifying and working on academic strengths and weaknesses, and much more. We also offer online tutoring for the SAT during the summer breaks.

Innovative and outstanding extracurricular profiles are Afrizo’s specialty. Our students receive one-on-one extracurricular mentorship on landing leadership positions, exploring their niche, finding volunteer and internship opportunities, in addition to start-to-finish guidance on developing original, innovative and creative passion projects as part of their program requirements. We evaluate and re-evaluate progress to ensure your child stays meaningfully engaged and that they are actually growing.

The Afrizo Future Leaders Program emphasizes personal development through individualized one-on-one mentorship to clarify student passions, whether through crafting an elevator pitch, writing a personal statement, writing career analysis, conducting academic research, or delivering for national or international symposiums, contests and/or competitions.

Individualized support in coming up with ideas for, developing, and executing an original passion project (e.g. founding a club, building a project, creating an art showcase e.t.c). This involves identifying and developing your unique personal interests, brainstorming ideas and narrowing down on a project plan, setting timelines and goals, building a project infrastructure, if applicable recruiting partners and finding funding, and lastly marketing and scaling your project to make much more impact.

We get your child to work on team-based community service projects. In the teams, your child works with others to develop and implement community service projects with the sole purpose of impacting communities, refining leadership skills, embracing service, learning goal-setting, enhancing accountability, developing grit and nurturing self-discipline.

We incorporate fundamental skills development into the overarching Afrizo Future Leaders experience by having our students think critically about their passion projects, plan for community service projects, network, engage in problem-solving activities, organize their digital and personal spaces, work on resumes and LinkedIn, prepare project plans and deliver them to mentors orally in virtual presentations to refine communication skills, and develop personalized time and task management schedules.

All students benefit from having one on one mentorship and a team fully committed to the student’s personal growth. Throughout our activities, our students are taught to recognize, apply and expand their natural strengths and talents. Our main aim is to raise future leaders who are bold and confident in their abilities.

We work with a third party to provide our students with the unique opportunity to travel to the US for in-person college tours to some of their dream universities. Through our partnerships, we are able to organize meetings with admission officers, student-led campus tours, experiencing campus dining, and campus housing. Our students have an enlightening experience by attending events, shopping districts and city landmarks. They are also provided with educational experience at the start of every tour offering helpful hints about what to ask during college appointments, financial aid information, and places not to miss.

 Their last year of high school and/or gap year is focused on robust career mentorship. Our students are exposed to different options that match their passions and profiles. They will hear from college students in those fields and receive guidance, motivation, emotional support and role modeling. This will inform their academic interests in college and give them a sense of direction.

We will carefully evaluate how much your family would be able to afford assuming your current family situation remains constant and expose you and your child to different financial aid options before starting applications for college.

Every activity, project, topic and skills focus in the Afrizo Future Leaders Program prepares students to excel in the university admissions process. Afrizo’s highly trained peer mentors, specialized experts, and highly experienced College Admissions Counselors are the best you could ever ask for. Our students receive individualized support in every aspect of their college applications. By this time, our students would have also worked with and left an impression on their high school counselor(s) and teachers, making it easy for them to get the necessary school documents and quality support needed.
