Why Afrizo College Consulting?
With over 4000 different colleges and universities in the United States, finding the school that is the “best fit” for your children can be challenging and daunting – not to mention time-consuming, even for the most driven students especially with the increasingly competitive college admissions process.
With our comprehensive knowledge of colleges and universities, and our commitment to providing personalized attention, Afrizo can help you and your family navigate the ever changing world of college admissions. In addition, Afrizo’s unique college admissions consultancy model lifts students above the global applicant pool addressing every aspect of the application with equal intensity.
As a student, there are certain ways you can help your odds. Take advantage by choosing an ED I or REA you can apply to. Both of these options often have a higher acceptance rate compared to the regular decision rate. Remember, you can only apply to one school early decision or one school restrictive early action.
Because you won’t find out if you get accepted into your early decision or restrictive early action school until mid-December or later, start to prepare your applications and write the supplemental essays for the other schools on the list. Don’t wait to find out if you have been accepted into those schools; otherwise, you might not have time to prepare properly.
If you get rejected or deferred from your early decision school, then you can apply to other schools. A strategic option would be to consider ED II schools. ED II rules are very similar to ED I. Therefore, if you are accepted, it means you are obligated to attend, regardless of other acceptances you may receive. You are allowed to apply to one ED I school, and if you don’t get in, you may apply to one different ED II school.
ED II deadlines are in January, which is often the same deadline as regular decision applications. You likely will receive the decision by mid-February. Most of these deadlines are the same as regular decision. If you have a second choice school and it offers ED II, it can be a strong strategy to include that as part of your admissions plan.
College admissions are becoming more competitive, but by formulating a calculated plan, you can find your place at one of your top schools. At Afrizo, we help you create your plan by factoring in many considerations to get the right plan for you.
We review your transcripts, final high school examination scores and test scores if any and match them with other applicants across the country to give us a good indication of your current match, target and reach schools.
Having a highly personalized and comprehensive extracurricular and leadership (ECL) profile is essential to creating a competitive college application. It is necessary to showcase your personal and intellectual interests in a way that helps you stand out above the crowd.
Your personal statement holds a unique degree of importance on the success of your US application. That’s why we have specialist essay mentors — people who have successfully worked with a number of students who have applied to and gotten into top universities and colleges and are in a top university or college themselves and know what admissions officers are looking for.
As a student at Afrizo, you are personally matched to a peer mentor who will help you build a university application list specifically for you in collaboration with our specialized experts and highly experienced college admissions counselors, taking into account:
- Your current grades/test scores
- Your preferred area of study
- Your extracurricular preferences
- Location! Where you want to live and study!
- The competition — we consider your admissions chances and encourage you to aim high.
Supplemental Essays are a very important piece of college applications. While personal statements are about the student, a college’s supplemental essays are about the college (their values and strengths) and how a particular applicant may fit at that college.
Therefore, supplemental essays provide another means for the admissions officer to get to know you and your interests. In fact, many colleges have begun to include more fun and creative supplemental essay questions.
They do this to get to know their applicants on a more personal and less superficial level. At Afrizo, we help students present themselves in the right way.
At Afrizo, every application is reviewed individually in three different rounds before submission: highly trained peer mentors – specialized experts – highly experienced college admissions counselors.
When it comes to the US, the alumni or admissions officers interviews represent your last chance to impress your target universities and colleges. But what will they ask you and how do you prepare?
Afrizo’s experienced interview mentors will walk you through all possible question scenarios, undertaking mock interviews and showing you how you can shine in a limited period of time — both in answering the questions you are asked, and coming up with relevant university-specific questions you can ask in return.
